BABY-SAFE i-SIZE has been designed to conform to the new car seat regulation ECE R129 (i-Size), and is suitable for newborns up to 15 months, so they can fit into the seat up to 83 cm in height. The infant carrier has a newborn insert for extra support, also offering energy absorption in case of an impact. The insert can be removed and the height of the headrest adjusted, allowing for more space as your child grows.

Newborn Insert
Especially designed to give extra support to small babies. The included newborn insert with removable, energy-absorbing foam pads reduces the space and offers additional comfort.
Superior Side Impact Protection - SICT
Our improved SICT offers superior protection in case of a side collision in two steps. It pushes your child away from the impact in a controlled movement and then deforms to absorb energy exerted on your child. To benefit from the protection, simply adjust and adapt the SICT on the side of the car seat closest to the door.
Lie Flat Technology
Allows for a more comfortable and more ergonomic position for newborns. Our patented integral recline mechanism allows you to adjust the flatness of the lying position according to the child’s height. The position changes automatically when adjusting the headrest, increasing the space to suit your child’s development. The shoulder straps also adjust automatically when adjusting the headrest.
Easy Adjustable Headrest & Harness
Our padded headrest and harness can easily be adjusted with one hand to suit your child’s height. Before you secure your little one in the harness, check to make sure the headrest is in the correct position – just above its shoulders.
Sun Canopy
The sun canopy offers protection for your child from the sun (UPF 50+) and wind both in the car and on the pushchair. The attachment points are conveniently located on the sides of the handle so you can carry the infant carrier while the sun canopy is in use.
5-Point Harness
We believe a 5-point harness is the safest way to secure your child in a car seat because it keeps your child safe and tight in the seat’s protective shell. In case of a collision, the harness distributes the forces of the impact across 5 points, two at the shoulders, two at the hips and one where the harness buckles between the legs. This helps to protect your child from all directions of impact.
Easy Release With CLICK & GO® Adapters
The infant carrier can easily be taken off the base or pushchair so parent can remain in an ergonomic, upright position while lifting the carrier up. Simply use the handle at the back of the infant carrier to unlock it from the base or pushchair and lift it off with ease.
Adjustable Handle
The adjustable handle allows you to easily move it to the back and place your child in the infant carrier. Simply press the buttons on each side of the handle to unlock and move it. When the carrier is placed on the floor, we recommend folding the handle back completely to prevent rocking.
Indicators To Ensure Correct Fit
Our indicators let you know when the infant carrier is fitted correctly on the base or pushchair. The colour indicators show when the adapters are connected correctly as they change from red to green.
Quick-Remove Cover
Things can get pretty messy on the road. Drinks can spill and children can get car sick. That’s why we designed a machine washable seat cover that can easily be taken off without removing the harness, so you can clean up quick and get on your way.

ON PUSHCHAIR
On busy days when you and your baby are out and about in the car, you can make the day go smoother by using the infant carrier on a pushchair. Simply take the infant carrier with your baby out of the car and securely click it onto the pushchair – and you’re ready to go. All Britax Römer infant carriers can be fitted on any Britax pushchair with our CLICK & GO® adapters, plus they are also compatible with other leading brand's pushchairs. Some adapters are available as an accessory from Britax Römer, while others can be purchased from the pushchair manufacturer.
ON BASE
Our infant carriers can also be used on one of our bases for an easy and secure installation. The base remains installed in the car while the infant carrier simply clicks on and off the base as you need it. The BABY-SAFE2 i-SIZE can be used on either the BABY-SAFE i-SIZE FLEX BASE or the BABY-SAFE i-SIZE BASE. For cars with inclined vehicle seats we recommend using the FLEX BASE as this allows you adjust the base angle, providing a flatter lying position for your baby, keeping them comfortable and safe. Please check our vehicle list to see if the base is compatible with your car.
